If you have been listening to The Extended Play Movie Podcast since the beginning, you know we love Michael Kamen. Well, we love the movies that he scores, which by proxy means we love Michael Kamen. This week, it was an extra special thrill for us to talk about this legendary composer of such classic films like Lethal Weapon, Band of Brothers, Highlander, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Mr. Holland’s Opus and Die Hard. That is only a fraction of his works in film and television.

In the mid-nineties, he teamed up with Aerosmith to do a classical rendition of their classic Dream On. You can hear Kamen’s bombastic score in action scenes in X-Men and Road House. As well as the Eric Clapton guitar and David Sanborn sax to characterize Riggs and Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon series.

To talk about this legend in cinematic history would never be able to cover a fraction of his work. Not only that, capture the true potential of his influence in film. All we can say is that you can enjoy some great comedies like Three Musketeers to the dramatic and moving Brazil to the action of The Last Action Hero and by proxy enjoy the work of Michael Kamen.
